weekly photo challenge : landscape

still standing ...

hello all!
been far too long since i’ve picked up my camera and done what i’ve always loved doing.
oh, how i’ve missed it!
so, i am here attempting to begin again.
thought i would start by joining in with the weekly photo challenge.
this week it’s all about the landscape.
i call this image, ‘still standing’.
i must say, after the challenges we’ve had in our lives over the past couple of years,
i am very blessed that i, too, am still standing!
i found this old dilapidated barn standing, or should i say leaning,
midst the spring grass in a wide open field.
often, when i stumble upon an old building,
i wonder what we would hear, ‘if only walls could talk’.

i’ll let this photo speak for itself. 🙂

thank you all so much for dropping in.
i’m hoping to be around and sharing photos more often now that spring is here!

blessings to you, and enjoy the day!

“our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred,
and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit,
become a child again at Christmas-time.”

*hope to be back soon …
in the meantime i’m wishing you all a joyful, peaceful,
and very blessed Christmas season!

this is the first time that i’ve participated in …
‘a word a week photograph challenge’.
click the above link if you would like to join in!
also linking up with p52 sweet shot tuesday
come join in over there as well!

i took this image in the pottery shop at a living history museum.
enjoyed watching him working on the potter’s wheel and sharing stories from the distant past.
i loved the way the sun was streaming in through the window producing these shadows …
i couldn’t resist capturing this sunny moment to remember!
thanks so much for dropping in!

… infinite possibilities

IMG_5697-1 sig

“emptiness, which is conceptually liable to be mistaken for sheer nothingness
is in fact, the reservoir of infinite possibilities.”
– unknown –

admittedly so, there has been quite a bit of ’emptiness’ on this blog of late,
and i suppose you could say there’s been some ‘sheer nothingness’ going on, too.
i have missed being here … more than you know!

life has certainly had it’s challenges this past year in deciding to ‘throw us a few curves’, as they say,
but we are working through them, praying, trusting, and looking ahead,
and soon, i’ll be back again sharing more consistently!

i finally got a new camera … my old one was growing ‘tired’ after 6 long years.
i still need to familiarize myself with all of it’s newness, though.
it also has video capabilities, and for that, i’m calling on my son! lol!
i haven’t been able to use it as much as i would like, especially during this time of year,
although, we have enjoyed some fall photo walks, capturing the all-too-fleeting beauty of the season,
along with a couple of fall festivals, and yearly flea market outings.
my son and i also photographed a celtic music video … well, i took the photos, and he ran the video.
and then there was my great-niece’s wedding that we both worked on, as well.
all the editing on that has kept me busy, but as i said,
i’ll be back soon to share a bit of the past few months, and then some!

i do hope that everyone enjoyed being together with all your loved ones this past Thanksgiving Day …
we have so very much to be grateful for, no matter the circumstances surrounding us …
we find ourselves growing as we walk through the difficult times, and always finding reason to be thankful.
we were able to spend some much needed time with family we had not seen in quite awhile …
and those are moments i will treasure in my heart … always!
the years have passed all too quickly, and we’re all growing older …
we realized just how important ‘family time’ is!

we’re looking forward to spending this Christmas with them all again, too!

finally, winter is definitely in the air with the promise of snow …
i for one, am loving the cool days, and crisp, starry nights …
yes, i love the winter, and the snow, and i’m so looking forward to it this year …
time for mugs filled with steaming hot cocoa, a crackling fire to take the chill off,
comfy socks to warm the toes, scents of the season filling the air,
and the promise of renewed hope in the days ahead …

yes, the promise of those ‘infinite possibilities’ yet to be filled!
hope you all have a beautiful first week of december,
filling your own reservoir with infinite possibilities!

see you soon!
hugs,
– deborah
